Eisenmann opens new sales and service office in Japan

Böblingen, Germany, April 13, 2018 – German plant engineering specialist Eisenmann is expanding its global sales and service network, and is to establish a new presence in Japan. This underlines the company’s strategic goal of international growth and increases its footprint in Asia. The new office in Yokohama will focus on building and strengthening business relationships with Japanese vehicle manufacturers and automotive component suppliers.

Japanese OEMs account for approximately 30 percent of the global market for vehicles under six metric tons. They have manufacturing facilities in many countries worldwide. However, capital expenditure decisions are significantly influenced by their corporate headquarters in Japan. As Jeffrey Bowers, General Manager of Eisenmann Japan, explains, “The new office in Yokohama puts us in close geographical proximity to our local customers, and allows us to engage more effectively with them. Japanese auto companies traditionally prefer to cooperate with locally based suppliers, but also pay close attention to quality and cost effectiveness. As a result, they are increasingly interested in innovative technologies from other countries.”

Bowers continues: “In particular, our smart paint shop solutions are attracting significant interest from our Japanese customers.” In this context, Eisenmann offers a broad portfolio of flexible hardware, intelligent software and digital services that can be combined to turn the Industry 4.0 vision into a tangible reality, with outstanding customer benefits. This enables smart and connected mass customization today, rather in the distant future. Moreover, Eisenmann has a number of technologies, such as the highly efficient E-Cube paint removal system and the E-Shuttle 200 conveyor for pretreatment and electrocoating, that are suitable for low-height environments – a common design feature of paint shops operated by Japanese manufacturers.

The new sales and service office in Yokohama reflects Eisenmann’s international growth strategy. The move takes the total number of Eisenmann sites to 26. The family-owned global player is now active in 15 countries worldwide.
